As a die hard Harry Potter fan I really enjoyed this book. It was written by the creator of the Harry Potter lexicon website, someone who probably knows as much as you can about the world of HP without being J.K.Rowling.

The author travels around Britain looking for the places which turn up in the HP books. Such as: Little Whinging, Platform 9 3/4, Grimauld Place, Diagon Alley, Godrics Hollow, The Burrow and of course Hogwarts.

I found the book in the travel guides section, but it is definitely not written like one. It's more of an account of various journeys and experiences (which I find myself wanting to make after reading). What is most exciting is that he actually seems to find "ficticious" places that are in the books, or which at least strongly resemble them. On Charing Cross road he finds a mysterious door with no handles, which is partially covered by plants and with a blank sign hanging above it. And in a village which looks suspiciously like Godrics Hollow he finds a grave in the church yard with the names Llly and James on it. Some of the places in this book will have been seen and visited by Rowling, but others she may not have known about (like the grave in the church yard). Is it just coincidence? Or something more?
