Written from the perspective of a dog, you might think this would be a light read, but it has some heavy life stuff in it. It also has a lot of car racing analogies, hence the title, which I didn't appreciate as much as another reader might. I'll giv...more

This book is very impactful. I was about half way through reading it and picked it up last night thinking I'd read a few chapters in bed before I went to sleep. I ended up back on the couch and finished the book. I loved reading Denver's point of vie...more

I personally didn't like this book at much as Catcher in the Rye. I still love his writing style overall however I didn't care for the dark undertones, characters, or plots in most of these nine stories.

Wow. Well this one's a work of fiction inspired by Christ. As taboo as it has become to openly promote Christ I offer no apologies in highly recommending this book. A love story like no other, I can only hope that it will change my life. God's uncond...more

A.A. Milne
“Piglet sidled up to Pooh from behind. "Pooh?" he whispered.
"Yes, Piglet?"
"Nothing," said Piglet, taking Pooh's hand. "I just wanted to be sure of you.”
A.A. Milne, Winnie-The-Pooh

C.S. Lewis
“I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.”
C.S. Lewis

Neil Gaiman
“Have you ever been in love? Horrible isn't it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens up your heart and it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up.”
Neil Gaiman, The Sandman, Vol. 9: The Kindly Ones

John Lennon
“Time you enjoy wasting, was not wasted.”
John Lennon

Marianne Williamson
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
Marianne Williamson, Return to Love
