Initially, I was rather disappointed with this book which is actually 3 short stories with characters from previous books. The first story's ending was too pat for a Crutcher book and everything turned out good. The 2nd story involved First Amendment rights and, for me, seemed more like Crutcher although I have a feeling it was written because of the censorship Crutcher has experienced with his books in high school. The 3rd was typical Crutcher: people who just can't quite get into the 21st century and who continue to live as if it were the 1950s, passing those same biases and prejudices to their children and grandchildren.
