This is a cute book for pre-school and kinder children. This fantasy was full of twists and turns. I really liked the story line and how the author keeps you wanting to know what could possibly happen next. I like the use of words and the interesting names of people, creatures, animals, plants and trees. I had to ask why the Banderbear? I was not expecting him to be killed. I do like how the author brings him back to Twig later in the story through another Banderbear. I really enjoyed this book and the illustrations. I liked how the author translates the Spanish words into English. What a sad story about these poor children who can not catch a break. Count Olaf is a very evil man and the story line is sad, it is a good read. It keeps you wanting to read more to see what will happen next. I don't recommend it to young chilren, but for teens. ]]>
