I love Ha Jin. I read this title in one sitting (um, I was up until 3 am) His works are very straightforward and simple, but filled with insight. This is pretty juicy so far, hopefully I'll be able to finish it tonight!

Ok, this is a bodice ripper trying to be literary. Overly written. The first half was good, but then it goes down hill fast and left me with a sour taste in my mouth. I couldn't wait to finish, I started reading the first sentence of every paragraph and read the last two pages. Skip this one unless you like LOTS of sex in your books!
