Paul Auster at his absolute best. You will stay physically attached to this book until the end. You will hope for a clear explanation at the end. Like all good Auster's books, you probably won't. This book was a weird reading. I know nothing about Camus' style and this the first of his books I read - maybe that's why I couldn't capture much of what makes him a Nobel prize winner. It's a straightforward book, I couldn't pick up a different style, different way to present the characters, nothing. The story itself is not that interesting, although it gets better at the very end. I'll read more of his books and see if what I think of "The Stranger" changes. ]]>
