Just finished this novel and found it to be well worth the wait (two years for me). Amazing story and character development. Plus turns some well-worn fantasy cliches directly on their heads. Won't reveal because I don't want to spoil. Another point is this book has some of the best fantasy dialogue and aphorisms I've run into yet. They have depth and command without sounding archaic. For example, Zalos: 'The world is full of massive things in motion. Little creatures get hurt,' or Mithorden: 'We become what we do, Zalos.' But aside from these fine nuggets, I found the plot to be masterfully constructed and the climax one of amazing scope and power.
