You should see the movie. The kite stuff in the movie is depicted SO wonderfully. I'd watch it on clear play if you can, though. It's pretty disturbing in parts, as I'm sure you had guessed from reading the book. The author has another book that I read and really loved, called "A Thousand Splendid Suns" also about the same culture, but centered around women.

Like most second books in a series, this was a lot of filler and transitional story. That being said, it was still pretty good. I should have read the first one again just prior to reading this one because I had forgotten a lot of the details. I did feel that the author relied too heavily on the first book to explain things to readers and refrenced the first book far too often. I did still like the book though, and am excited for the next in the series.
