For me, a good read is a book in which you lose all sense of place, time and self, one you become so deeply immersed in that the only world that exists is the one on the page.
Reading is a great pleasure. I probably have over 1000+ books on my shelves - academic, novels, poetry, guide books, gardening books, cookery books - so I'm not going to list them all (you'll be glad to know). Just use the space here to list favourite or unusual or lovely books to remind myself how much enjoyment books can bring.

Gosh -sorry, just noted this. How remiss of me! It's fiction. Released in the US as 'what was she thinking?' - The movie was also called Notes on a Scandal - a recent movie with Judi Dench and Cate Blanchett. I loved it. And Heller's newest too. The Believers is really well written. ]]>
