This is a great little book for small hands. We got this book when our son was about 9 months old and he's always loved carrying it around. Now that he speaks, he points to the animals and tells us what they are. Great, inexpensive tool for learning animals.

My Mother-in-Law gave us this book when we were expecting our son and, even though he's two now, I still can't get through it with dry eyes (despite the fact that it's kind of creepy). It's a little weird that the mother climbs into her grown son's house, holds him while he's asleep and is apparently incapable of telling him she loves him when he's awake. Clearly those things are just an exaggeration and the book is intended to show the unconditional, lifelong love a mother has for her child(ren). All psychotic, creepy things aside, it's a great book that I hope to one day get through without needing tissue. :o)

Can't say that I loved this one...but, it wasn't so terrible that I couldn't finish reading it. Easy, one-day read with a fast paced, not so neatly packaged ending. Looking for the 1970's version of this book and added the movie to my Netflix Queue.
