I'm glad you liked! It's definitely in my top books I've read this year list. There is a prequel, Fire, which is set about 30 years before Graceling and she's planning on writing another book as well so we have that to look forward to. I felt like I could read in this 'verse forever. ]]>

yeah, that's how I sort of felt too. I have to admit that it's not perfect and that certain issues aren't dealt with (a character is raped and it's never really dealt with or at least not very well) but I found it worth reading. I have the third one now, so we'll see how it is. ]]>

It's funny because I don't actually remember liking the first book in this series that much but I was happy to be back in this 'verse again.
I like that her faeries are cruel and Not Nice, sometimes not even nice looking. I like that mortals choose not to exist in their world. It's very different than the faerie books I remember reading a child or a teen. Even the mortals are different and dealing with more adult issues than they were back in the day. The books are just plain grittier which I enjoy.
Recommending to fans of fantasy. Actually this might be a read-alike for Twilight. The romance feels a bit similar with the whole forbidden aspect (only the writing is better). Definitely going to pick up the third one. ]]>
