In my estimation, Patterson is cranking out so much that the quality of his work has begun to suffer. However, that being said, I still really enjoy the Alex Cross novels. This one was just as fast paced and twisty as others in the series. This one was set in D.C. and involved the highest levels of society and power.
Naturally, Cross catches his prey. One of the aspects I have enjoyed about Patterson's work lately is that it is a bit more gritty and explicit in the violence. Whereas before I often felt I was reading a Law and Order episode.
I know Patterson will have another Cross novel, but must I get hit over the head with it?
Overall, a nice addition to the series. ]]>
I am a fan of this series. I think they remain fresh, interesting and worth reading. They are mysteries with characters that you become familiar with, like and know. This one involved several threads that came together. I thought it was creative how Kellerman linked crimes and characters together. I will continue to read these as fast as he writes them. ]]>

A good 80's style horror, slasher thing. I enjoyed it. That's it, no Nobel, no Pulitzer. Just good ol' fashion terror, torture and cannibalism. ]]>

No, I don't expect works of art. I really enjoyed the first four novels he wrote. They were original, taught and well paced thrillers. I enjoy Patterson for the same reason.
This was a formulaic copy of the D-Code from the first word. There just appeared to be changes to setting, adjectives and character names. It was a disappointment to the highest degree. There was nothing interesting or original about it. I wanted to like it, really, but come on, this was nothing but a plagerized copy of his own work. ]]>
