In 1996 he decides to dust it off an re-tool it, using it's premise of everyone getting a ten year do-over for a framework. He ultimately uses it as means to launch into many anecdotes and non sequiturs, and as a send off for Kilgore Trout. For all I know, there may not have been an original Timequake, as this wouldn't be the first time Vonnegut has gotten very meta on us. It's hard to distinguish what stories in this book are fiction and which aren't, because you can tell many have to be true. I think for any other author this would have been seen as quite an ambitious idea, but I know Vonnegut can and has been better, so it suffers some for it.(less) "
