Beverly, while I don't agree completely with your assessment I will say (while I did love reading it) it was not so much a memoir as a recollection of events, sort of like reading the old testament and putting that all into practice; after the fact.

I love a great story and a great memoir even better. This book made me laugh, cry and think; not all simultaneously! It is a great read and a great inspiration. If you think your life is tough, or you face challenges, read this or "Three Dog Life" and see if you compare. I know my challenges were dull in comparison.
