In this volume, Luthiel continues her journey which started as a quest to save the life of her foster sister and best friend. Readers of the first book will enjoy seeing Luthiel develop as she confronts many dangers and troubles. The plotting is fast paced and intense and I was pleasantly surprised at the themes -- very valid to the current day though set in a mythic tale.
