i have to admit i was a bit disappointed in this book. it was well written - no wait - beautifully written but a good chunk of the humor fell flat (for me)and the entire middle just goes on and on and is quite droll.

if you like historical fiction, you will like this book. the history is fascinating, and gregory does a good job of getting into elizabeth woodville's head and telling the story from her perspective.

this book had a good premise to it, an interesting story..and it started out well. it was so intriguing at first. until rushdie started going off on tangents, and repeating himself, and then story started to slow to the point of frustration.
the last 100 or so pages of the novel were really tedious and hard for me to read. and then CLAP! like lightening the last few pages sped up and just ended the story - which after such a long time felt a bit flat and non fulfilling.
