Agreed. I actually didn't mind the addition of special powers to each vamp - afterall, I DO like the super friends, but what bothered me was these two things:
1) After being a vampire for about...8 minutes, Bella develops enough mastery over her own powers to essentially defeat an entire cover of the oldest and most powerful vampires in the world, who have been at it for thousands of years.
2) Based on the above, the entire book essentially leads up to an epic battle that never happens. Fuck that. ]]>
