The book can be perceived as an attack against the church, especially if you read the rest of the trilogy. Pullman's thoughts on the Catholic Church are none too flatterng, and you know how that always goes. Personally, I don't believe it was offensive either. But you never know with other people! ]]>

The Trumpet of the Swan was one of my favorite books growing up. E.B. White's classic tale tells the story of a young swan who cannot sing. In order to help him, his father steals a trumpet upon which Louie learns to play, with the help of his friend, Sam (A real boy!!). With time, Louie becomes a great musician with his lady love by his side. I love it. You'll love it too. ]]>
Buster Cat Goes out is an adorable little story that should be read to your sons and daughters. Although the tale is simple enough, it is profound in that it discuses isolation, feeling left out, and the need to be with those you love. ]]>
