Seriously? Read the magazine article. Pollan makes solid points, but the polemic grates after a while. Culture is far more complex than Pollan understands, and so the false dichotomy of Culture and Science he presents when discussing nutrition and eating comes of as somewhat nonsensical. Not one of Thomas's best, it follows the youngish protagonist from DC back to his home town to investigate the murder of his sister. The subplots are slightly too pointlessly complicated, and the DC elements are integrated inartfully.
