In my recent CORA Diversity Roll Call post, I shared that I always give my daughters books for Christmas. You all know my commitment to literacy, supporting educators and how strongly I feel about getting books into the hands of readers.
Today’s Sunday Salon is about giving. I have six children’s books to donate to school libraries or classrooms. If you’d like one of these books, please comment at Color Online with your preference and the name of your school. I’ll do a random drawing. It’s hectic right now and schools will be on break so all books will ship after Christmas. The following titles are available:

Our review policy states all books are redistributed. I mean what I say.
If you are an author and would like to donate your book, contact me and I’ll add it to the list.
Deadline to request book is <span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 102); font-weight: bold;">December 31st</span>. All books will ship after the first week of January.
I would like to ask that all recipients, if possible, please publish a review of the title on your blog or grant me permission to publish your review at Color Online.

Adding redemption would have served only one purpose and I think Williams aim was to reflect just how ugly and senseless this reality is.
I gave this book a 5 because I believe it accomplishes what the writer intended. It's nice when the writer gives me what I want, but I'm far more engaged and impressed when a writer shakes me up. This book struck me so hard that I didn't read anything new for several days and in writing this I feel the same intense anguish and sadness I felt when I read the book.
What is so disturbing is that if you ask teens about their real experiences or the reaction even to this book, they are depressingly oblivious.]]>
