I agree with Molly. God is a very relational God and I appreciate how God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit were represented here.I also have a better appreciation for what is God's Will and what is not. How God uses the good and the bad that happens in our lives for His good and perfect Will. I realize that not everything in the book is "biblical" but again that wasn't the point of the book. I also agree with Dan that we should read with discernment. It's no different then if we are reading Harry Potter which is fantasy(woops, I may have opened up another can). We need to separate fact from fiction. Biblical from un-biblical. What we should read. What we shouldn't read.
These are all personal questions and they are different for all of us. It appears that almost everyone here has read the book. Great. You have your opinions. I have a problem with those who haven't read and rely on their "reliable" or "credible" sources that say whether they should read the book or not. If you don't want to read it, fine. But don't allow others to dictate what you should or shouldn't read. Any good pastor will tell you to read scripture on your own to discover what the truths are. Why should this book be any different?
