This is one of those books where you think, "How can someone ever come up with a story like this"?, it is just that incredible.

Truly was such a big baby her mother died in childbirth. She definitely, "stands out" next to her older, beautiful sister, Serena Jane. Truly learns early on how different she really is when her teacher calls her a "Little Giant" on her first day of school. When their father dies, the two sisters are separated with Truly living in a farmhouse with barely literate people and her sister treated like a homecoming queen and living up to that.

When Serena Jane leaves her husband Dr. Robert Morgan, Truly is forced to move into his home to take care of her young nephew. When Truly finds a legendary Morgan family secret which has the power to heal or kill, what will she do with it? And what secrets is Dr. Morgan keeping from her?

This is a book about what might go on inside the head of an extremely large person (as told by Truly) as he or she deals with the world but is so much more. All of the characters are so well developed and so interesting. It is a great insight into small town life in general.

This is Tiffany Baker's debut novel and I cannot wait to see what she comes up with next! This book is a must.

Just so the reader is aware, I rate cozy mysteries on a different scale than I would on say a non-fiction book, as it is impossible to compare the two!

Second in the series, Elliot Freed is a divorced, quirky but likable, owner of the only theatre in New Jersey dedicated to showing screwball comedies along with the latest comedies. Just like the double feature nature of his movie house, there are two mysteries in this book, one from the past and one from the present. There is also a romance between Elliot and his ex-wife, and you really root for them.

Those from New Jersey will really enjoy the local references.

This was my first time reading the series. I liked it enough to read another but I am not running out to buy the first book! But please keep in mind I have read A LOT of mysteries so I am a tough customer!

A WASP living on the Gold Coast of Long Island gets involved with a Mafia kingpin. DeMille's dialogue makes you feel like you are really there and he has a great understanding of person to a person and the multi-faceted relationships one has with them.

What you think will be a typical Mafia book turns out to be anything but, there are many surprises.

18 years later DeMille has written a sequel to the book, The Gatehouse, and I will definitely be picking it up. I couldn't be more thrilled that he decided to do that, b/c The Gold Coast does leave you to wonder some things!

This over 600 page book was a quick read, believe it or not!

One of many in the cozy Bed and Breakfast mystery series. Judith and Renie are like old familiar friends to me by now. It's best to start at the beginning of the series, but each book has explanation of the heroine's (Judith's) background. Good if you want something light and fast, and if you are a mystery lover. But like I said in the beginning, just one of many in the series, and nothing special.
