It's hard to tell from the trailers, but some of those scenes look very much like homages to Harryhausen's (esp. that medusa scene!). IMDB says that the director repeatedly tried to get Harryhausen to be involved in the film but that he'd declined to come out of retirement. Since he's still working as a Producer and Exec. Producer that sounds to me like they were trying to get him to do some of the actual animation... how cool would that have been?!

I know what you mean... I had a vague hope of maybe hitting 100 this year- I'm only about 10 away- but then I started Under the Dome (1,000+ pages) and I think that goal is shot all to pieces!

I don't see how this can possibly be "good" (plot/scripting/dialog/etc)... and yet I foresee that I will watch it, at least once. Probably in the theaters. Possibly I will wind up owning it ;) If a movie is based off of a comic book or a video game I'll pay money to watch it. (I don't think I've ever been accused of having 'highbrow' taste in movies :D) ]]>
