One of the most important books a person could read. This isn't just a story about faith in God. It's a historical warning, demonstrating how friends and neighbors can become hate-driven monsters within mere months under some circumstances. It's a warning of how quickly evil can spread and dominate, but also reveals the presence of hope in even the darkest times.

This book is intended as an introduction only, but you'll learn quite a bit about our Founders' political philosophies and motives in their own words. Skousen constantly backs up his claims with quotes from the Constitution's authors.

Skousen talks about the fundamental roles of the three branches of American government, the Founders' belief that their governmental system is utterly worthless without a strong moral culture, and their thoughts on the interaction between religion and politics, among other issues. The Founders believed there is a natural inclination toward monarchy and dictatorship, and this book explains how they hoped to resist that natural temptation.

It reads quickly and is made for easy referencing after the first read. This book is an excellent beginning to any education on American government and law.

An eye-opening alternative to the heroic picture of FDR and his New Deal that's taught in our public schools.

One of Roosevelt's big programs was later declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court. Small business owners were jailed for not charging the high prices the government had arranged with giant corporations. And by the end, Roosevelt's own economic mastermind bluntly admitted that their plans had failed. There are many hard facts here to warn us against repeating these mistakes.

FDR had some strong points, but his domestic policies were not among them. You'll notice the similarities to Obama's political philosophies. We are repeating these mistakes. This book will help you understand how.

This book marks the beginning of modern conservatism. Burke recognized the French Revolution as just the beginning of a rise in careless and dangerous ideals worldwide. His book is as relevant now as it was then.

I read this after I was diagnosed with AS at the age of 25. It's an excellent source of information on how AS manifests itself and issues surrounding the condition.

My only problem with the book is that Attwood babies Aspies too much, commonly suggesting that they should make everyone aware of their condition and expect both understanding and allowances. If a person with Aspergers ever hopes to live a full life, he or she needs to accept that not every situation can be planned or controlled. There are too many and too various medical conditions for society to support all of them. Learn to suck it up and adapt.
