It looks like getting the book--borrowing from the library, buying it new, getting it used, etc., will take a long time.

As people get copies (I don't have mine yet) put a note here. The most important part of this activity is the discussion that occurs at the end (or near the end) of reading the group's selected book.

It will be some time before the discussion can begin.

Also, to reduce confusion and relieve any timeline anxiety for everyone, I will remove the Start and End dates from the "Eating Animals" selection and remove the "Introduction" listing entirely.

"Introduction" will still be the second book, but we'll stick to reading (and discussing) just one book at a time.

My apologies for the late response. This group matters to me (not many vegans here in Southwest Virginia). Lisa: Thanks for the synopses. Do you think a new edition of "Diet for a New America" would be worth considering?

I'm beginning to feel that participating in this group is a little like playing catch-up.

It may be worthwhile for the group to have an "optional alternate selection" which people can read alongside the Club's primary selection. This way great books some of us have already read can still be discussed while the sharing of new books ("new" as in "It's new to me.") remains the main focus. ]]>
