          <body><![CDATA[Meh - it was quite common for barons to be described as Sir Fred Bloggs or Lord Bloggs on a random basis. Even more so in the 14C but still in the 15C. I found this with Lord Audley, for example. J A-H is wrong to attribute anything sinister to this. And Elizabeth Woodville would certainly NOT dictate commissions word for word. She (or rather the King) had trained employees to do that, and I suspect they worked off 'standard templates' a bureaucratic practice still in vogue in modern times. ]]></body>

It certainly isn't a light read, but the author has to be admired for telling the complex story of the English Civil War in the context of a novel and pretty well achieving success.
