Wonderful - Awesome book. There needs to be a warning on this book that if you are going to read this book before bed, you must start hours in advance because you will not be able to put this down. I loved this fast-paced adventure story and cannot wait to read the follow up Catching Fire.

Humorous account of Bill Bryson's attempt to hike the Appalachian trail. I found this a nice relaxing read - made me want to go out and do some hiking and camping, see the world. Would have loved if he would have added some pictures - would have loved to see what his alcoholic hiking partner Steve Katz looked like. Overall enjoyable and probably will pick up another of Bryson's books sometime soon.

Fantastic look at the beginning of the war in Afghanistan and the how the war progressed in Iraq. I was amazed at the experiences and bravery of the journalist author Dexter Filkins. Being in the middle of firefights and meeting some of the most dangerous men in Iraq - it is truly an incredible journey and story. Highly recommended if you want a first hand look of what it was like in these war-torn countries.

Enjoyable fantasy read with an adult twist. Taking many themes from Harry Potter and The Chronicles of Narnia, this book tempts to put that kind of fantasy into reality. Quentin discovers he can do real magic and then is swept into a world he only had fantasized about.
I enjoyed this take on the fantasy theme where the characters use cuss words, enjoy booze, and have sex. I may try out Lev Grossman's other book as I enjoyed his writing style and plot flow.
