Hi Julie,

What a clever and funny review! I've listened to quite a few books along the same line. My last one was Michael Polan's In Defense of Food, and I have to tell you something: not only do I love all the books you've been sending me and the stellar service I've received at all times, but after listening to these books and doing some more research, I've decided to completely cut out the pork and beef from my diet. I've become what Polan calls a flexitarian, for I only eat chicken and fish and many veggies and fruits. I tell you my body feels 100 percent better, and even though my friends have always called me the "energizer bunny," I feel that my energy level is higher now. Healthy food coupled with great exercise is the answer to graceful aging! Please add this book to my list of books! Thank you, Julie! Enjoy the rest of the summer!
Carmen

Yes, you're absolutely right about connecting women's feelings from Flaubert's literary works to the women of today, which makes the classics great visionaries. The feelings, thoughts and emotions depicted by authors like Flaubert, Dostoievsky will be timeless and applicable to all times, unlike many of our contemporary authors who will never achieve this timelessness in their lifetime, whether they write one novel or 40 novels. I'm going to school tomorrow on the bike, as Tuesday I played hookey and not rode the bike. I wasn't sore, but had lots of work to do and one of my classed got canceled. Today we had our big awards meeting at Re/Max and I got two awards, one for being in top 10% agents, and one for being number 8 top producing agent in our office. We all underwent a little ego boosting today (Ha!Ha!). It's good to celebrate accomplishments as long as we all remember to stay grounded with reality and constantly seek to become better persons on all levels, right? I just calculated my miles on the bike this year and I'll be riding more than 2000 miles total, so that's pretty good. Have a good night!
