This is just me, but I can't handle vivid descriptions or images of anything medical, which was a theme in part of the book, so that hard to read. But I love her humor and outlook on life. I am sticking with my 1-star review despite the backlash :). While I certainly admire Randy Pausch's courage, my rating in no way reflects my attitude towards him or his battle. I had heard the lecture itself and saw him interviewed around the time I read the book. He seemed like a great (and strange) fellow.
It is just that the book was awful. It is poorly written, and it is inspirational fluff and feels like self-help guide to death/life. Instead of feeling inspired, I felt let down by a dumbed down version of how to deal with life and lives obstacles.
