I was waiting for my connection flight at Frankfurt and my eyes fell on that book. I bought it and it gave me hours of good reading. The concept of this book is part of history book part of popular physics text for those who want to know the hard road of the developing of quantum physics. The text is clear and very enjoyable to read and points to some books and thoughts, which makes reader to search for the questions.
Schrödinger's Cat is used as the perfect example of one and this theme went trough the book and author returned to it like to the red ribbon.
However this book needs to have little bit educated reader at least on the high school level but better is better for having more fun from it....less

Hey, do you want to know some truth about contemporary society? Buy it. Nobody knows who hell is Banksy, but what is know that this person makes damn good graffiti. He put his works in various museums and waits if anybody notice that there are ehm vistor's added. Sometimes it took days to notice. He uses his art as way of communication with society. He is unorthodox and he was one of the first and yes his way works. His book is simply must have art book....less

We all know how it ends. We all know the main opponents, Megatron and Optimus Prime. But every story has a beginning and every man or bot had been having simple life before he became leader. Megatron was once a very humble and hardworking bot, being miner was not easy and well paid job. He was sort of happy until something came in his life. The autobots were presented as not those noble creatures as you have probably seen them in the movie or cartoons, but bureaucratic and power hungry bastards who ruled Cybetron with iron fist. Sentinel Prime was making the government running by senate and his position was not very strong. The golden age was and Iacon was flourishing but deep in the undergrounds the Energon crisis (Energon keeps bots running) hit the population. Those who are rich wanted to be richer and the mines are transformed in to the automatic ones, that meant miners are kicked from the job. But there was something which triggered the uprising. One calm worker was pushed to take upper lead when his comrades were massacred during peaceful protest against closing the mine. The one who was forced to fight, was forced to become a gladiator and from gladiator to leader. Megatron showed the alternative for those who were poor and low. The revolution rocked Cybetron and new faction came in to the scene. The drawing is pretty good but sometimes is hard to tell who is slaughtering whom. The text is well typed and easy to understand.
One thing there is no Optimus Prime. ...less

One word is accurate about this book. FUN. It was fun to read the exploits of dashing and not very intelligent (even if claimed that he was) Jack Absolute. He got unwanted popularity due the Sheridan's comedy The Rivals i n London and was forced to change a continent. The war in the colonies brought the opportunity for him to get from the mess. America's was of Independence was good opportunity how to earn some money and became utterly ridiculous spy who fell for another spy only to learn that he should be swashbuckler instead of intelligence personnel. There is an indian friend, femme fatal and lot of action. It is typical summer book good for taking on the beach. ...less

Hermann Hesse created something unique in each of his books. He picked up the individuals, who are extraordinary but misunderstood by society and they give damn about it.
The Glass Bead Game is story of Joseph Knecht, who has been raised in greenhouse society of Castalia. This place is center of intellectual elite group, the bests of the best are living there. Whole place is flourishing but it is distant to the outside world. Joseph Knecht is trained in the Glass Bead game, which needs to be master by synthesis of various scientific and asthetics arts...mathematic, music, philosphy, logic and many others. He was the best in it. But he was painfully aware that something is missing in his life.Becoming magister lundi was just one thing but when he went out to see the different life it simply brought him to his physical end.
I am very fond of this book and rereading it quite often:)

I like older men in yaoi manga. I am fed up with schoolboys. I need the man in suit with manly features...but not to manly...you know just pretty adult one will do. I picked the manga mostly because that reason and because nice drawing styl. The plot like is nothing surprising but it goes smoothly and illogically like in almost every yaoi manga.
Takashi Okumura, the wealthy but utterly lonely restaurant owner, hired firm to redecorated his restaurant. That is how he met Kei, an interior designer. He was so interested in his work that he wanted to push their relationship on the next level. Yeah bed time level.Kei was supposed to design not only restaurant but his home too. They are described as men with strong personalities but frankly they are whining and obnoxious bastards...however still adorable ones. There is a plot as the main point so no much sex for your viewing pleasure ...less

I was thinking how to write review to this book and I was stuck with various versions. I re-read it countless times and each time I found something new in this book. The book is merciless and his narration is surgically accurate and bears all ugliness of human nature. His birth and his life is connected to the cocoon of the episodes, which left reader unsure if it is possible to like or dislike Garp. ...less

The Patriot: The Official Companion book is nicely made insight to the background of the filming of The Patriot. It was intended to have some historical explanation to the movie. Well at that point it failed miserably and it was as constructed as the movie. However it is crammed with nice photos and that rules. The part about the Green Dragoon unit has very nice photos, which saved the book from casting in to the fire of Khazad-dûm....less
