This book is taking me longer than I though to get through. It's a heavy-hitter. I keep having visceral and very real reactions to the descriptions so I keep putting it down to read something lighter for a while. I'm somewhat scared to see how it ends because I can't see it ending in any good way.

I'm glad you found this one. Fortunately, I don't have an "obsessive" child so her princessing moments are far fewer than her fox/hound/pig/cat/superhero/puppy moments. Books like this one (and I few other goodies) are so needed, though, when there's Disney Princess overload.
