The truth is, I had really mixed feelings while reading it. But I couldn't look away. I mean, I could NOT just give up on it. The setting was wholly intriguing and I felt so PRESENT, I just had to see it through. And then, when it was all over, I was surprised to find that it had really gotten under my skin. I could NOT stop thinking about it.

So even though there were times when the plot seemed a tad melodramatic and the characters a bit cliched, I just can't give a negative review to a book that leaves this kind of impression. For me, a good story is one that resonates, and this one did. (less) "
