LAME! I thought the idea of this book had something going for it but it turned out way to preachy and to long. I also find it very uncomfortable when the main character in a Young Adult book smokes, yes she is 18 but this book is marketed for girls 13-17 and smoking does not equal empowerment. I was hoping for a Hunger Games feel but what I ended up with was reading the authors feelings about the current state of the American people. Also if an author is going to compare the similarities between Ancient Rome and American than fine but do it well and get the facts straight. I can't believe that I finished this book, the characters were not at all enduring and the story fell flat about half way through. I mean 600 pages for a chick lit book? Two-thirds of the way through I really began to hate the main character she got on my nerves and the story kind of hopped all over the place.
