Always imaginative and well written. I didn't realize this was a series and it ends not on a cliffhanger but well... I know I'll be up late reading #2 tonight. OH WAIT # 2 ISN'T DUE UNTIL 2014 THE WORST

Loved all the stories except, funnily, Tenth of December. Felt the others had almost a DFW feel to them.

More of a novella than a novel - it took me just over an hour to read. I really enjoyed it up through when the Deer Boy appeared, then I'm not so sure.

I imagine it's fulfilling for a writer to take every event in a character's life and be able to write it multiple ways. In this case it's not just interesting to the author but a pleasure to read. And they get to kill Hitler.

So many y/a issues could be solved by the heroine talking to an adult. But Ioved this story of overcoming odds, hysterical prostitutes, and old fashioned New Orleans.

Very intense. The first 70% of the book alternates chapters from 2003 and 2007. It manages not to be confusing. I had a hard time putting it down as I was worried about Cathy's well being - in both timelines. Waiting for the inevitable. But it still...more
