I wrote this one as a gift for my then-friend Abigail after a particularly bumpy patch of romantic angst. Her request was "plenty of swordfights, no romance." Abby really liked it. A few years later, Abby and I started going out. Now we live together in Mountain View, CA. Go figure. Anyway, believe it or not, this isn't set in the same world as A Knight of the Land, though I use a lot of the same themes. Actually, it's set in an altogether different world, one inspired in me, years and years ago, by, I'm embarassed to admit, Magic the Gathering.

My first fantasy novel. When I started it, it had been turning around and around in my brain for six years. That was two years ago. It's almost finished, only the last three chapters to go. I'd like to publish this eventually.
