Anne Rice can write, the Twilight books are very poorly written besides inventing a new vampire collective. I wasn't impressed either, but I do intend to read the entire series.
Try the Obsidion Trilogy by Mercedes Lackey and James Mallory- excellent fantasy. ]]>
