I really appreciated the writing in this excellent historical novel. Another plus for me was the fact that Thomas Cromwell is the hero and that Thomas More is not.

I recently read "The Art of Racing in the Rain" another book narrated by a dog. But, I have to say, I enjoyed this dog's narration much better.
The mystery is good, with some nice plot twists. My favorite is that the dog gets important clues and insights but then forgets them or gets distracted, or takes a nice nap.
A fun read and I'm looking forward eagerly to the sequel.
