This was a fantastic installment and it's only book two (And Arya's still alive, for those of you who are Team Arya like me.) You just never know what is going to happen and the thing about these books are they switch from one stream of consciousness to another, which is really brilliant. Because I'm sitting there, and I read about Jon, let's say. And something happens to him and I'm like, "NO GRRM!!! YOU CAN'T LEAVE ME HANGING!!!" and then I read four or five more stream of consciousnesses and so by the time I get back to Jon, I blow through his chapter because I'm so anxious to get back to the OTHER characters to see what's going on with them.

More people die (though... I don't think anyone significant? I'm pretty sure all the important people are still living by the end of this book.) Though, strangely enough, and I JUST realized this, we don't see ANYTHING from Robb's POV this book. Interesting. He's not dead but this does not bode well for him.

Oh, crap, yeah, I think someone important DID die. TWO people!! Ugh, man, the second one was so sad. Because GRRM likes to really kill us and just make everyone die. Though, you know that doesn't always work as well as you'd think because he kills everyone off but I never get upset as I could. I mean, I've had books that when someone dies I've just SOBBED (The Hunger Games series, anyone?) but GRRM kills them at such a fantastic rate, I don't have time to get attached. Like, Ned died in book one and I was like, "Ned! No!" But, you know... no tears. Just really angry that Ned was dead.

The other thing about this book is that you just don't know what's going to freakin' happen. I mean, one second you think you've got it figured out and then the next you're like, "Well, damn. I didn't see that coming."

I'm still holding out hope that Arya's teacher is alive because we didn't SEE him die, but I'm pretty sure he's dead. Which is sad because he was AWESOME.

This was a really all over the place review but you should just take from it that I liked the book a lot and I wish I wasn't on vacation because I would start the next book. GO TEAM ARYA!!(less) "
