I want to make everyone aware of a great edition of books and stories in The Whole Story series published by Viking. I have quite a few of these editions, including one entitled The Pit and the Pendulum and Other Stories By Edgar Allan Poe. It is simply a format that has the stories and wonderful historical and literary asides, as well as illustrations. Some of the other titles I have in this series are The Call of the Wild, Frankenstein, White Fang, Little Women, Heidi, The Hound of the Baskervilles, and The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. Just amazing editions of these classic tales.

Well, I had something else in mind, so I'm going to suggest it, too. The book that you posted, Sabrina, Complete Stories and Poems of Edgar Allan Poe is a great, comprehensive collection of Poe. It even includes his only novel, The Narrative of A. Gordon Pym of Nantucket. The tales are divided into sections of Tales of Mystery and Horror, Humor and Satire, and Flights and Fantasies. These tales are followed by the short novel and then the poems. I would prefer to read the tales in a theme type arrangement rather than a chronological one. I guess that's just my personal quirk. I had planned on ordering this book to add to my collection anyway. It is $15 and some change on Amazon, but half.com has it as low as $7. I thought it was in a soft print backing, too, but I didn't come across it in a quick check. I'll check further on that. I would just like to all use one book where I can check off the material read as I go. I don't like to read on the computer when I'm reading stories or books much because it is hard on my eyes. So, I submit this suggestion to for you all to mull over, too. And, I still like your idea, Sabrina, of maybe switching over to reading other Poe containing material (fiction of nonfiction) after reading just his tales for a few months. Anyway, the Poe collection I've mentioned is another way to avoid voting constantly for the next tale.
