DeMille isn't really there in this book -- he takes his gifts (which are suspense, military/detective gun-related tension, intrigue) and slathers a Shamrock all over it in Irish-American thickness ... which amounts to just about nil.

It's a bit thin on its character development in one area, but overall -- it's a good romp through the Russian woods and countryside -- as well as into the streets and politics of Moscow.
