Pentru ca, in ciuda faptului ca e basarabean, pe tot parcursul cartii Ernu se recomanda sovietic si-si povesteste cu umor si detasare amintirile din perioada comunista; chiar mai mult, foloseste un plural auctorial care il identifica si mai mult cu poporul sovietic, asa incit sa nu iasa in evidenta ca un caz singular in marea rosie. De fapt, initial, cartea fusese gindita ca un proiect comun al mai multor persoane care traiesera experienta sovietica. Ca n-a mai reusit, e alta poveste.
Asadar, Ernu scrie (foarte bine, de altfel)despre prima lui pereche de blugi, cartile si desenele animate sovietice, taberele, bancurile, filmele, traiul la comun si (evident, nu?) ce si cum bea cetateanul sovietic.
Cartea, cred eu, trebuie citita intr-o cheie comic-nostalgica si nu trebuie cautata in ea amendarea comunismului, asa cum au facut-o unii, sfirsind nemultumiti.(less) "
