"Open confession for the first half of this book I was asking myself why I was reading, to which I could only respond I liked the other one. A lot of this book feels extremely shallow. Not I'm so pretty and my hair smells terrific shallow of course. I believe that a book should somehow challenge and expand you. I didn't clearly get that from the first chunk of this book. That is what I mean by shallow.

The last half of the book once things start happening is very entertaining. I have to say that Pratchett is not giving Adams a run for his money. But they are books that you can write two papers and skim three books on pragmatism and still read a chunk of. While I love Cioran and Le Brun they just are not going to reach their full potential when they are running on empty. Pratchett on the other hand feels like he is at least coming close.

Plus I like that the main character is a coward, completely inept, and still almost dies at least once every 20 pages (the count was 27 around the center of the book according to his sidekick, who appears to have glasses not 4 eyes).

There was discontinuity again but I'm starting to think Terry just wasn't prepared for a reader who was going to remember his characters vocabularies and call him on the fact they are claiming to not know the meaning of words that they previously used.

There is a fun satire of religion that comes off as an extremely watered down version of the mist by Stephen King. (less) "
