I believe we're discussing this tonight at my book group and I'm not nearly done! School has a way of getting in the way, sometimes!
At first I had a hard time understanding how this book was entitled "Olive Kitteridge" when she seems merely incidental to the story. I guess I'm learning as we on that in a way, she is the binding agent to the whole story....

Isn't it awful of me? I don't feel as bad missing when you weren't there either! I hope you had a great family night together! I have to look to even see what we're reading for this month. That's what bummed me about missing last month. The month before, I didn't get to read and I made the meeting. this month, I read the book and don't make the meeting! Gosh! I'm crossing my fingers for next time....

I haven't been on Goodreads in so long it, this book never had a chance to even make it to my currently reading list! Though, truth be told, it was read in one night.
My family and I loved this movie. It was only after learning about the movie, that we found out it was also a book. My Thea read it first and reported decidedly it was "creepy." I knew I would want to read it too. Finally got the chance.
Though there are a few factors different from the movie, the differences neither take away from the book or the movie. There are simply that... difference.
Quiet, haunting, and yes, creepy, I loved this haunting little book through and through.
It should be noted that when I showed my husband this book, he noticed the author and got very excited. Ever the comic affectionado, he pointed out that the author, Neil Gaiman, is the beloved, cult-figure author of highly esteemed (in the comic world)comic series, The Sandman. He just picked up an anthology for me from the library today. More reviews to come...

He has a new book, the the books you've read are the ones I have read or am reading too. I saw that great event in one of the AAUW events listing emails (I can't remember which one).
