My taste in art and music is eclectic; I enjoy all varieties of live plays & musical performances. My life has been a quest to learn about, and make sense of the world.

I feel fortunate to be American. I also consider myself a citizen of the World, and above all, a citizen of Humanity.

I endeavor to be tolerant of all people. I do not seek to impose my will on anyone because, experience has shown me that people who engage in such behavior do so at the expense of others. Such people tend to be overbearing, disrespectful and controlling regulators of conduct. I am just not into affecting individual behavior on the basis of my authority. I comport myself as a guest in people’s lives and I treat them as honored guests in mine.

I’m convinced the key to a well-balanced, happy life is to be of service to others and to be mindful of all creation. I treasure respect, kindness and compassion.

That said, I also strongly believe in peace through strength. I don't like bullies and have spent my life taking them on. I do not glorify violence but I will never run from a fight.

I like President Truman's quote, "We need not fear the expression of ideas - We do need to fear their suppression."

I enjoy the solitude of a long-distance bicycle ride but also have a strong need to be around people.

Working with my hands is as important to me - as is the world of the mind.
