          <body><![CDATA[The book says nothing about them killing her husband, it might say something in the fourth book for all we know.<br/>Perhaps she drained him too much by accident, hmm?<br/>There is no obvious about it, you fool.<br/>Reread the series. I haven't reread it in three months and I recall facts better than you. And I have a bad memory. So. :/<br/><br/>Yes, if they did kill him, she would have tried defending him. Perchance they did it while she was off doing something, and she came back to him dead, therefore, could not defend him properly, and went into a bout of depression, refusing another familiar.<br/>We do not know for now, we might not know in the fourth book either.
