    			  Okay, so this was the book I chose to have as my &quot;reading for fun!&quot; book during this semester. YES, OBVIOUSLY A BAD DECISION. We all know how well I deal with tragically sad and upsetting things! This book was pretty wonderful though. Not only has Beah survived hell, but I believe he is a talented writer. I can't imagine how emotionally draining it must have been for him to write this.

    			  Rafe might just be the most intense teacher of all time. And although it's impractical to try to be exactly like him, and one might not agree with all of his ideas, one can't admit that it's inspiring just to know about him. Overall, I loved this book.

  		Tahnie, I had a HUGE problem with the miscarriages part, too. Like...it was just too many, you know? I was like Okay, we get it. I really wanted to like it too, but I felt like I didn't actually feel this big romance I know it was supposed to be. Mainly I just felt like a lot of it was too upsetting, and I felt like Clare's character was diminished by the fact that she was pretty much defined by always waiting for him.
<br/>

    			  Also had to read this for Literary Criticism. Have no idea what to rate it. Thought it was terribly, horribly depressing, and would never read it again. But I wrote a few papers about it my teacher called &quot;magnificent,&quot; so, that's good? Wow, that makes me sound really conceited, I'm sorry.

    			  Had to re-read this for a Literary Theory class this summer. Man, okay, I know it's a huge classic, and I remember liking it the first time I read it in high school, and I know it's full of meaning/lessons about humanity etc., but this time I just found it so disturbing and couldn't get over the fact that I hated like, all of the characters. Or rather, couldn't feel empathy for any of them. Also, ridiculously anti-woman, and I know it's an old book, but I couldn't really get over it.

    			  Really, really liked this book at the beginning - kind of Rob Thomas meets Gossip Girl, really entertaining - but then I feel like it got kind of strange. And I like strange usually, it just, I don't know, didn't work for me. But I'd still be interested in reading more of Ehrenhaft.

    			  My first Chris Crutcher book, which is probably strange since it's short stories involving characters from his previous books. But still, I am in love. Wonderful, and important.
