about this author
For many years, Marsena worked in the textbook publishing industry and although she is grateful for the experience and still enjoys editing on a case-by-case basis, she is glad to not be numbered among the many writers who get stuck on that side of publishing. Once she got serious about writing, Marsena looked into some MFA programs. The regular, on-campus programs that emphasized tests and hundreds of hours in workshops critiquing other students’ work made her feel old and tired. Luckily she found a low-residency program that offers vigorous feedback...more |

I love the title: Family Tales of Horror. I'd definitely pick one of those up! :) I hope your wife likes my book...I must admit I still get a little nervous when I know someone's reading it.
Yeah. I wrote a whole book of them, called it Family Tales of Horror, won hon.ment. at O'Connor in Geo. some years ago, sitting on a shelf somewhere with all the stuff.

PS. My wife Lynnie has ordered your book, can't wait to get it.
Hey John,
Wouldn't that be something? Too bad, though: right city, wrong state. I lived in Madison, WI, for quite a few years, and about four years ago moved to the greater Chicago area. Sounds like there's at least a few stories in your family history!

Is it true you grew up in Madison, Il? My mother's family homesteaded east of Richton Park along Sauk Trail in 1835. Plot just east of St Anne's cemetary, where Rich High is today. Land deeded by President Polk. If true, that would make us sort-of, once-upon-a-time, almost neighbors.
