A story of growing up through tragedy

The author has created a dynamic plot in the life tragedy of a Native American family. I loved the culture, the excellent voice of a 13 year old boy.

Enchanting story with many twists and turns

I enjoyed the history of the Maori culture and the many different characters. It was neat to see the characters' love for their home country of New Zealand.

I began reading this series to remind myself of the beautiful country of New Zealand. I am really enjoying the characters but especially the history of sheep barons and coal mining.

Amazing story of survival

It always is amazing to me the strength of the survivors of the holocaust. Edith tells her story with great honesty and integrity. I will always wonder what kind of evil could treat the Jewish people such disdain and torture.
