This is my own book. Only 30 copies have been printed so far, but a second printing in early 2009 is likely.

The book is a set of aphorisms or pithy sayings geared to recovery from addiction or alcholism, e.g., here are the first 10 entries:

entry 1 January 1	No mask required.
entry 2 January 2 You can start your day over at any time.
entry 3 January 3 If reality is truth and we sugarcoat the
truth, we get truth decay.
entry 4 January 4 Identify to indemnify.
entry 5 January 5 Where you are, be there.
entry 6 January 6 Good feelings and bad feelings.
entry 7 January 7 Getting our lives into perspective.
entry 8 January 8 The path to recovery is simple, but not
easy.
entry 9 January 9 Scapegoating
entry 10 January 10 Feel your feelings.

Here is the first entry:

January 1 (for Beth)

No mask required.

The wonderful thing about recovery meetings is the opportunity to be yourself. Without the need to hide our addiction or alcoholism, one is afforded the healthy option of being authentic and honest about who we are. Many hate thinking in terms of labels and balk at introductions in meetings that start like, "Hi, I'm Charlotte and I'm an alcoholic" or "I'm Shane and I'm an addict." However, that can be freeing. It's our opportunity to drop our masks.

For more information, email me at addictionhelp@sbcglobal.net
