There are a lot of proper nouns in this book that made me suspect George Lucas of having browsed its pages for naming ideas in the Star Wars universe.

It really shouldn't have taken me so long to finish. It isn't terribly difficult or anything. But it does have that storytelling arc that I complain of in films like Goodfellas, where you ally yourself with the world created in the beginning and then grow increasingly more dejected and frustrated as everything comes crumbling down. (Oh, sorry. Spoiler alert. The Roman Empire blows it in the end.)

I haven't watched the TV series since I was too young to want to have watched it. I'll review it with new eyes now, I'm sure.

During a brief IM chat wherein the subject of weirdos came up, Tommy recommended this book to me, and I promptly ordered it from Amazon. But that was MONTHS ago. I can't believe how long it took me to finish it. It should have been a zip, because it was very interesting and an easy read. Life just gets complicated sometimes, I guess.

My only real criticism of this book is how rife with typographical errors it is. For a book about a famously neurotic weirdo...well, it just struck me as ironic. But despite my urge to red pen the thing as I went, it was entertaining and informative. I was at least impressed with how much from the previous books in the series seemed to be setting this story up. But I was (as usual) a little frustrated with the pacing. I bought myself a copy of this book from a little shop in the Townhouse mall in Agana, Guam. Later, my mom bought us the Chuck Jones animated feature on video tape, and I would later hearken back to it and think that Michael C. Hall looks just like Milo. It's in the eyelashes.
